When it comes to the safety of the planet, the American space agency isn't messing around
Anyone used to commenting on Facebook posts knows there's a lot of misrepresentation going on.
Well, when it comes to climate change , NASA's not going to stand for it.
When an article written by American scientist Bill Nye was shared on the social network, it drew some considerable criticism from climate change deniers.
Nye had bet prominent denier Marc Morano $20,000 (£14,000) that this year would be one of the top 10 hottest on record. Morano declined to take the bet.
And once Nye posted that to Facebook, the haters came out.
But, unbelievably, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration decided to get involved to set the record straight.
One commenter, Fer Morales, posted that "despite NASA confirming that fossil fuels are actually cooling the planet's temperature, and that there's more ice than in the last century on the polar ice caps."
NASA hit back with the brutal response: "Do not misrepresent NASA. Fossil fuels are not cooling the planet."
Ouch.
The agency didn't stop there, it also quoted bona-fide research to show that, yes, climate change is a real danger.
And it also threw in a graph for good measure.
