​LG Prepares $400 Million for OLED Investment in South Korea LG Display will invest 450 billion won ($396 million) in South Korea to ramp up production of its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays and OLED lighting panels. Around 310 billion won ($273 million) is allocated to boost OLED capacity while 140 billion won ($123 million) will be used to build the company's own OLED lighting production line. The company already put 1.05 trillion won into their home country in July last year to build its fourth OLED factory in Gumi. LG is beefing up its OLED products as its rival Samsung is on the final stages of testing its eighth-generation OLED technology.
